Your horses are part of your life’s work. Whether you’re riding trails, breeding show winners, or hauling to rodeos, they deserve care from someone who understands how much they matter: to your goals, your time, and your land.
At Bear Creek Large Animal Clinic, we offer both mobile and on-site veterinary care for horses across Southern Oregon and Northern California. We can come to you when needed, or you’re welcome to haul in when it makes more sense. While the haul-in facility is still in development, it’s being designed with species-specific areas to keep equine patients separate from cattle and other livestock. The equine section will include climate control, holding pens, stalls, and a padded recovery room to support safer diagnostics and smoother recoveries. All diagnostic services currently offered in the field will also be available on-site.
Preventive & Wellness Care
Simple steps now. Fewer problems later.
Good horse care starts with knowing your animals and spotting changes early. Our wellness services are designed to prevent problems before they become expensive, painful, or career limiting.
We provide:
Equine Dentistry
A sound mouth supports a sound horse
Dental problems affect everything from how your horse eats to how they perform under saddle. We offer both routine and corrective floats, using motorized tools and sedation for safety and precision.
Services include:
Standing Sedation for dental exams
Annual or as needed sedated power floating
Malocclusion correction
Tooth extraction when needed
Lameness & Hoof Care
The Rogue Valley is hard on hooves. We can help.
As a horse owner, you know the saying: no foot, no horse. Lameness is a key part of our practice at Bear Creek Large Animal Clinic. Our goal is to diagnose the source of lameness as quickly as possible, while collaborating with owners and farriers on supportive care to ensure a smooth recovery. We also provide routine maintenance like joint injections and other ongoing support to ensure your horse stays comfortable and sound—no matter if they’re a pasture pet or an actively competing sporthorse.
Our approach includes:
Gait and flexion exams
Nerve and joint blocks
Joint injections for ongoing maintenance
Digital radiographs and ultrasound
Regenerative medicine (Prostride)
Chiropractic evaluations and Adjustments
Collaboration with your farrier and long-term care planning
Diagnostic Imaging & Internal Medicine
Some answers need tools. Others need time. We bring both.
Not every problem is visible on the outside. Whether your horse is dropping weight, going off their feed, or just doesn’t feel quite right, we use diagnostic tools to get a clearer picture and take a step-by-step approach to rule-outs and treatment.
Available diagnostics:
Digital X-ray
Ultrasound
Gastric endoscopy
Blood panels and lab work
Prepurchase Examinations
Buying a horse is a commitment. Let’s make sure it’s the right one.
A prepurchase exam gives you a fuller picture of the horse in front of you. We offer detailed, honest evaluations that help you make informed choices without pressure. We’ll walk you through the findings and answer your questions clearly so you can decide what’s right for your goals.
Offered services:
Full physical and lameness exams
Flexion tests
Radiographs (if requested)
Dental evaluation
Blood testing for baseline or drug screening
Emergency & Ambulatory Care
Emergencies don’t wait. Neither do we.
Not sure if it’s urgent? Please call as soon as possible. We’d rather talk things through early than miss a chance to help.

Our on-call services are available from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and resume the next morning at 8:00 a.m. If something happens after hours, don’t wait.
